About the Course

Añoreta has the distinction of being the very first course built in the Axarquía region, opening in 1990 and putting Rincón de la Victoria firmly on the golfing map east of Málaga. It was designed by José María Cañizares, a two-time World Cup winner and five-time European Tour champion, and the layout reflects a player's mind rather than an architect's ego — plenty of elevation changes, a handful of genuinely blind tee shots, and greens with enough movement to keep your putter honest. It's narrower than some of the glossier resort courses along the coast, which locals will tell you is exactly the point: this is a thinking golfer's course, where placement beats power on more holes than it doesn't. Trees and water frame nearly every hole, and the closing stretch has a habit of deciding more than a few friendly bets.

How to Get There

Añoreta Golf sits just off the N-340/A-7 coastal road in Rincón de la Victoria, about 15km east of Málaga city and 20 minutes from Málaga Airport by car — one of the most accessible courses on this list if you're flying in. Simply follow the A-7 eastbound and take the Rincón de la Victoria / Añoreta exit; the club is signposted from the roundabout. Free parking is available at the clubhouse.
