About the Course

Atalaya is the friendly veteran of the Estepona golf scene, and with 36 holes spread across two courses it's practically a golf resort in its own right. The Old Course, laid out by Bernhard von Limburger back in 1968, is one of the true elders of the Costa del Sol — wide, welcoming fairways and big, gently contoured greens that let mid and high handicappers actually enjoy their round instead of fighting the course all afternoon. The New Course, added in 1990 by Paul Krings, climbs a little further inland and rewards you with sweeping views across to Gibraltar and, on a clear day, the coast of Africa. Between the two layouts there's enough variety to fill a whole golf week without ever feeling repetitive, and the on-site practice facilities are some of the most complete in the area.

How to Get There

Atalaya sits just off the A-7 in the Atalaya-Isdabe district of Estepona, roughly 15 minutes from Puerto Banús and 55 minutes from Málaga Airport via the AP-7 motorway (exit towards Benahavís/Estepona). Follow signs for Atalaya Golf from the coastal road. A hire car is the simplest option, with ample free parking at the clubhouse.
