Golf Lifestyle Guide: What to Pack for a Costa del Sol Trip
Heading to Marbella for golf? From the right clubs to the best SPF, here's everything you actually need in your bag for a Costa del Sol golf trip.
Calle Mencía Calderón 89, 29680 Estepona, Málaga
One of the newer arrivals on the coast, Azata Golf opened its doors in 2021 and it shows — everything from the drainage to the practice green feels built with modern golf in mind. Sterling & Martin laid out a short, smart 18 holes with the Sierra Bermeja as a backdrop and the Mediterranean glinting in the distance, but don't let the modest length fool you: six lakes and a river bordering six holes turn "fun and gentle" into "concentrate on your yardages" fairly quickly. The wetland setting has become a genuine haven for birdlife, so expect the odd heron supervising your approach shot. It's a relaxed, walkable layout that suits golfers who want a proper test without needing a full day and a chiropractor afterwards — ideal for a quick nine before dinner in Estepona.
