Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf

Real Guadalhorce has history baked into its fairways — quite literally, since the course occupies the grounds of the Cortijo Colmenares, an 18th-century estate once home to the Marquises of Larios. Inaugurated in 1989 to a Kosti Kuronen design and given a thoughtful update by Miguel Ángel Jiménez in 2007, it splits neatly into two moods: a front nine of classic English parkland with gentle hills and quiet watercourses, and a back nine with more varied fairways and water coming into play on five holes. The clubhouse is the real showpiece, though — a beautifully preserved Andalusian farmhouse complete with its own small chapel, a genuinely rare backdrop for a post-round drink anywhere on the coast.

Real Guadalhorce is located in Campanillas, about 15 minutes from Málaga Airport and the city centre. From the airport, take the A-357 towards Campanillas and follow signs for the club (around 15–20 minutes). Free parking is available at the historic clubhouse.
