La Duquesa Golf & Country Club

La Duquesa is a course of two very different moods. Built in 1987 on a Robert Trent Jones design, the front nine plays like a classic English parkland course transplanted to Andalusia — narrow, tree-lined fairways and raised, well-defended greens that demand accuracy over ambition. Get through that gauntlet and the back nine opens its arms: wider fairways, more forgiving lines, and genuine chances to claw back whatever you dropped on the front. That built-in contrast is what keeps La Duquesa interesting for players of every level — the accurate ball-striker gets a reward early, and everyone gets a fair shot at redemption late. Its location near Sabinillas, just a few minutes from the beach, makes it an easy add-on to a western Costa del Sol golf trip.

La Duquesa is located near Sabinillas, on the western edge of the Costa del Sol close to the border with Cádiz province. From Málaga Airport, take the AP-7 motorway westbound towards Algeciras and exit at Manilva (around 75 minutes). From Marbella, allow 35–40 minutes. The club is signposted from the coastal road, with free parking on site.
